Sam opened Jack's on Fort Street in 2001 with a simple promise — fair pricing, friendly service, and work you can trust. About 25 years later, that hasn't changed. You'll still find him on the shop floor daily, talking customers through diagnostics and making sure the job is done right.

Sam's story
Jack's Auto Repair opened on Fort Street in 2001 with one rule: treat every customer like a neighbor. Sam has been on the shop floor ever since — not behind a desk, not at a corporate office.
Over the years, the shop grew to meet what Downriver drivers needed: full mechanical repair, then collision and body work under the same roof. That one-roof model is still rare — and it's still the reason customers drive from across Metro Detroit.
Today, Jack's handles mechanical repair, collision, and body work at 3120 Fort St. Same ownership, same straight talk. We also sell inspected used cars and install custom wheels and tires.
